Gavin Thomson, Pannar Seed’s representative in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, shared this very promising crop of PAN 4R-528R near Greytown, planted by CMP Farming. PAN 4R-528R was planted on 25 October at 65 000 plants per hectare. Although premature rainfall in December had us concerned, the season now looks very promising and we look forward to the results.
The PAN 4A-128, PAN 4R-528R and PAN 4R-728BR platform is a quick or early yellow hybrid range, that is very well adapted to the eastern production areas. The hybrids provide good agronomic balance and tend to carry the ears low on the stem. Combined with the PAN 3A-124 platform it is a formidable yellow package for the high potential eastern production regions.
