Joint Trials Baronne Study Group Bronkhorstspruit

Bennie de Villiers, Pannar's representative in Delmas and Bronkhorstspruit, represented Pannar at the planting of a joint cultivar trial at the Baronne Study Group, Bronkhorstspruit. An important part of our work is to test our cultivars under different conditions for stability and yield performance annually. Each representative plants strip trials and joint strip trials in collaboration with customers, study groups, or farmers' associations. These large-scale trials complement the small-plot statistical trials.

Cultivar selection begins with the IMPACT (Intensively Managed Product Advancement Characterised Training Plots) trials. IMPACT trials are planted across the summer rainfall region to evaluate new cultivars. The aim of the trials is to maximise the commercialisation of products.

Pannar's team also annually plants a series of P3 Trials. P3 stands for "Pannar Preferred Products" and allows us to make unbiased performance comparisons that enable us to make accurate cultivar recommendations to farmers.
