Hannelie Tait, Pannar's representative in Hoopstad, is impressed with this promising planting of PAN 1644R in her area. The PAN 1644R was planted for 300 000 plants per hectare in 0.762m rows on 12 November 2021. The seed was inoculated with Rhizobium and Rhizobium was also applied in the plant furrow. During planting, Carbofuran (13 kg/ha), Wood vinegar (2 l/ha) and Guanoboost (4 l/ha) were applied.
PAN 1644R is a MG 6.7 growth class cultivar with a very good yield potential. The cultivar has a strong root system, and it is very well adapted to the water table soils in the western production region.
