Fanie Roux, Pannar’s sales representative in Carolina, spoke with Rudolf van Eeden (photographed here standing proudly in his crop of PAN 4A-128). Rudolf is a farmer in the vicinity of Carolina and Arnot. Fanie says: “Rudolf is very impressed with his PAN 4A-128, which produced an average of 9.5 t/ha at a plant population of 48,000 plants per hectare. In a year where yields vary significantly due to the amount of rain experienced, Rudolf’s PAN 4A-128 performed very well. Rudolf is particularly impressed with the hybrid’s grain quality and hectolitre mass".
Rudolf also plants the Bt version in the range, PAN 4R-728BR.
The PAN 4A-128, PAN 4R-528R and PAN 4R-728BR platform is a quick or early yellow hybrid range that is very well adapted to the eastern production areas. These hybrids provide good agronomic balance and tend to carry their ears low on the stem.
