PAN 5R-891BR and PAN 5R-547R at Tinus Linde near Brandfort

The beautiful plantings of the two white hybrids PAN 5R-891BR and PAN 5R-547R hold promise. These are some of Tinus Linde's maize that he planted near Brandfort.

PAN 5R-891BR in a medium-early white hybrid. The platform includes PAN 5R-591R, PAN 5B-491B and PAN 5P-991PW. They are all strongly prolific and the seedlings have good vigour with the advantage of quickly establishing a good plant stand. The platform is widely adapted and maintains very good stable performance at different yield potential levels. The platform delivers very good performance on high-potential soils in the western production areas with a clay content of <10% in the topsoil.

PAN 5B-491B was the top performer in the ARC trials on the water table soils for the 2020/21 season. PAN 5B-491B and PAN 5R-891BR have the additional benefit of the second generation stalk borer protection. PAN 5P-991PW with the PowerCore™ technology provides broad-spectrum protection against above-ground lepidopteran pests, stacked with glyphosate herbicide-tolerant technology for excellent insect and weed control.

PAN 5R-547R is a glyphosate tolerant hybrid in the medium early growth class with very good standability. It is well adapted to the sandy soils of the North-West Free State and the north-west production areas. It is a hybrid with particularly good yield potential.
