The Pannar P3 yellow maize trial is coming up nicely near Hoopstad. Pannar's team of agronomists and representatives test the very best hybrids, as well as promising hybrids, in Pannar's pipeline in the P3 trials. P3 stands for "Pannar Preferred Products". The purpose of this program is to make unbiased performance comparisons, that enable us to make accurate cultivar recommendations to farmers. Hannelie Tait, Pannar's representative in Hoopstad, shares these photos of some hybrids that have germinated very well.
PAN 3R-724BR and PAN 3R-224YHR are ultra-early hybrids with an excellent record of performance under irrigation and under high-potential dryland conditions.

PAN 4R-838BR is a new yellow hybrid with a robust disease profile in the early-growing class. Although initially earmarked only for the eastern production region, it is very well adapted in the western production regions, where it has performed exceptionally well under diverse plant populations and yield potentials.

PAN 5R-582R is a medium early hybrid that is widely adapted to all production regions and is a yield leader in the eastern Highveld. It produces excellent quality deep-orange, shiny grain with good bushel mass, which is very popular with buyers.
